Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the 2017 TEXAAN Conference.  Your assistance is greatly appreciated.  Please review the benefits, guidelines, the volunteer roles, and complete the TEXAAN Conference Volunteer Form.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Conference Coordinator at conference@texaan.org.  We ask that volunteers to complete and submit the form by Friday, February 3, 2017.

  • Benefits
    • Meet and network with conference attendees.
    • Support and participate with TEXAAN.
    • Receive a certificate of appreciation.
    • Receive a gift for volunteering.  Must volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours during the conference and complete your volunteer shift(s) on time and in full.

 

  • Guidelines
    • Review the volunteer instructions and information that will be emailed to you two weeks prior to the conference so you are best prepared for your volunteer role.
    • Assist for the duration of the time session(s) that you choose.
    • You must be registered and paid for the 2017 TEXAAN Conference.
    • Inform the Conference Coordinator ahead of time if you are no longer available to volunteer.  Contact information will be included with the volunteer instructions that is emailed to you.
    • Must check-in at the Volunteer Area at least 10 minutes prior to the start of your time shift.
    • Wear your volunteer ribbon on your name badge to identify you as a conference volunteer.

  • Volunteer Roles
    Please review the volunteer roles listed below for the 2017 TEXAAN Conference.  Select which area you are interested in volunteering with.

    • Registration – responsible for welcoming attendees and distributing registration materials.
    • Session Room Monitors – responsible for assisting during concurrent workshop sessions by introducing the presenter(s), passing out and collecting evaluations, and presenting the presenter(s) with certificates.
    • Engagement – responsible for interacting and helping keep attendees engaged by promoting conference events, taking photos (camera will be provided), and interacting with attendees on social media about the conference.
    • Technology – responsible for assisting the Vice President of Technology troubleshoot technology needs during the conference such as helping with computers and projectors.
    • Floater – responsible for helping where ever needed during the conference. No preference in the volunteer area.

 

  • Frequently Asked Questions
    • Can I volunteer if I am a first-time attendee?
      • It is a great opportunity for first-time attendees (or people who have attended multiple times) to meet other higher education professionals and network.
    • What should I do if I’m no longer available to volunteer?
      • Contact the Conference Coordinator immediately. If it is prior to the conference, email conference@texaan.org.  If it is during the conference, text/call 512.787.8707.
    • Where do I sign up to volunteer?
      • Complete and submit the online TEXAAN Conference Volunteer Form.  Click here for the form.
    • Is there a deadline to sign up?
      • If you are interested in volunteering, we ask that you complete and submit the TEXAAN Conference Volunteer Form by Friday, February 3, 2017 so we have enough time to provide you with instructions prior to the conference.
