Chairperson
Dr. Maricela Gonzalez-Silva is the CTE P.A.S.S. Program Manager at South Texas College, where she oversees a Perkins Basic-funded program that provides CTE students with textbooks, laptops, tools, calculators, and daycare cost assistance for single parents. She also teaches as an adjunct faculty member in the Bachelor of Applied Science in Organizational Leadership program. Previously, she was the Academic Initiatives & Projects Officer for STC’s Academic Affairs Division, managing the Starfish early alert system and co-directing the QEP. Her past roles include coordinating STC’s Annual Summit on College and Career Readiness. Dr. Silva has established numerous community partnerships through special projects and initiatives. She earned a Bachelor of Applied Technology from STC, a Master of Education from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership, and an MBA from Lamar University. In 2013, she received NISOD’s Excellence Award for her work with the Catch the Next Project, and she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her daughter Lori.
