Empowering Student Success: From Insight to Action with the Focus Wheel & GROW Model
Join InsideTrack and Austin Community College for a high-impact pre-conference session where you’ll earn a Coaching Skills Workshop Certificate and participate in an interactive training designed to build practical coaching skills that support student success and professional growth in higher education.
This immersive session balances inspiration with application. We’ll start by sharing the story of our partnership, highlighting strategies, innovations, and tangible outcomes that have advanced student success. Next, participants will engage in a hands-on, guided workshop featuring InsideTrack’s Focus Wheel—a holistic framework that examines eight key areas critical to long-term student success—and the GROW model, a proven coaching approach for effective goal-setting and problem-solving. Through practical exercises, attendees will practice applying these tools both to support students and to set and achieve their own goals, uncover obstacles, and design actionable next steps.
The session concludes with structured networking, providing space to exchange ideas, reflect with peers, and build meaningful professional connections. You’ll leave with new coaching skills, practical tools like the Focus Wheel and GROW model, and strategies you can immediately apply to empower students and enhance your own effectiveness in your role.
It is designed to enhance skills in using coaching techniques to empower and support students. Participants will explore the principles of coaching, learn effective questioning, and goal-setting strategies, and practice methods for fostering student accountability and self-efficacy. This interactive session equips professionals with tools to guide students in achieving their academic, personal, and professional goals.
